Speech Pathology:

Speech Pathologists, previously Speech Therapists, now “Speechies” as we affectionately call them!  Speechies use evidence-based assessments and therapies to assess, diagnose and treat communication disorders. We support children, adults and teenagers with difficulties with:

  • Speech sound articulation, tongue-tie and thumb sucking.
  • Early language and social development – playing and taking turns with others.
  • Understanding and following directions.
  • Putting sentences together to tell and write stories.
  • Emotional regulation, social skills and executive function (planning, prioritising and making decisions).
  • Literacy – reading and spelling.
  • Swallowing and speaking for adults in their legacy years with Parkinson’s Disease or similar difficulties.

Communication involves sending a message (expressive language) and understanding messages from others (receptive language). Communication breakdowns can result in frustration, loss of confidence, social withdrawal and behaviour difficulties. Let us help, here’s how it works.

At Zoe we take a caring, encouraging and family-centered, team approach to working with you or your loved one.

All of our Speech Pathologists are Certified Practicing Members of Speech Pathology Australia. We know that leaders are learners and are developing our skills weekly through internal and external development courses.

Food & Social School:

Food schools are a wonderful, fun, evident-based therapy to help your child and whole family. Food school sessions target areas that may cause difficulty for children with or without a diagnosis, such as restrictions in the type and number of foods they will eat, sensitivity to certain tastes, smells and textures, and big responses to foods that are unknown and disliked.

These weekly, one hour sessions are delivered by our Dietitian, Speech Pathologist and Allied Health Assistant teams with input from our Occupational Therapist. We offer pre-prep groups, and after school, school age groups, as well as Telehealth groups, to allow this fun to happen in your very own kitchen targeting food exposure, social skills and communication goals!

Individual sessions are also available for food therapy and other dietetics services.
